THE NOOB GUIDE

New to Minecraft? We've got you.

Follow these 5 simple steps and you'll be building your first base with your batchmates in about ten minutes. No technical knowledge needed.

1

Make sure you have the Java Edition

MITASIA is a Java Edition server. It runs on PC, Mac and Linux. The phone (Bedrock) version cannot connect to it, so you'll need a computer — even a low-end laptop works.

  • Minecraft Java Edition on your computer
  • A Minecraft account (any edition) — needed to log in
  • An internet connection (mobile hotspot is fine)
2

Install the Minecraft Launcher

Go to the official Minecraft website and download the Launcher for your operating system (Windows, macOS or Linux). Install it like any normal app and open it.

  • Download from minecraft.net — official and safe
  • Choose "Minecraft Launcher" for your OS
  • Run the installer and let it finish
3

Sign in with your Microsoft account

Open the launcher and sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don't have a Minecraft license, borrow one from a friend who plays — or use the account you already own. Make sure the launcher is set to the latest version.

  • Click "Play" on the latest Minecraft release
  • The game will download and launch automatically
  • You should reach the main menu with "Multiplayer" visible
4

Add MITASIA as a server

In the main menu click Multiplayer, then Add Server. Give it any name you like — "MITASIA" works. Type the server address below exactly. Leave the port as default (25565).

5

Join and play!

Double-click MITASIA in your server list and wait a few seconds while the world loads. You'll spawn in a safe protected area. Say hi in the chat (press T), meet your batchmates, and start your adventure.

  • Press T to type in chat, E for inventory
  • Press WASD to move, Space to jump
  • Break trees by holding the left mouse button to get wood

SURVIVAL BASICS

Your first night, survival-style

Five quick tips so your first night on MITASIA is fun instead of terrifying.

Punch trees first

Hold left-click on a tree trunk to get wood. That's your first resource for everything.

Craft a crafting table

Turn wood into planks, planks into a crafting table. Place it down to craft tools and more.

Make a bed

3 wool + 3 wood planks. Sleep at night to skip the dark hours and set your spawn point.

Don't starve

Cook raw meat in a furnace, or eat apples, bread and berries. Keep that hunger bar full.

Mark your base

Build a tall tower of dirt near your base so you never get lost while exploring.

Team up

Ask in chat for a partner. Building a base together is twice the fun and half the work.

WHAT YOU NEED

Minimum system requirements

MITASIA is a light vanilla server. If this laptop can run a browser, it can probably run Minecraft.

RAM 4 GB 8 GB or more
Storage 2 GB free 4 GB free

PROBLEMS?

Troubleshooting

Double-check you typed mitasia.in with no spaces, no "www" and no extra letters. If it still fails, wait 5 minutes — the DNS was recently set up — and try again. You can also try using a different internet connection.
MITASIA runs on Minecraft Java Edition, which needs a licensed account. Log in with an account that owns the Java Edition, or borrow one from a friend who plays. The launcher will only let you play online with a real license.
First, check the status pill on the homepage. If the server is online but you still can't join, restart your launcher, make sure you're on the latest Minecraft version, and confirm you typed the address without a port number. Still stuck? Join our Discord or WhatsApp us and we'll fix it together.
In Minecraft, open Settings > Video and lower the render distance to 6-8 chunks. Turn off fancy graphics and smooth lighting. Close other apps (especially browsers) while playing. These three changes fix most lag.
No stress — the spawn area is protected and repairs itself. Head a few blocks out and build your own place. Nobody gets banned for small accidents, just don't grief on purpose.
HOUSE RULES

Three simple rules

Be respectful

This is our college community. Be kind in chat, don't troll, and remember everyone here is a student just like you.

No griefing or hacking

No breaking others' builds, no stealing, no cheats or hacked clients. Fair play keeps it fun for everyone.

Have fun

Build crazy things, help new players, join events and make the server something to be proud of.
